“The Final Audit” – published 8/14 – According to Bankers Digest, readers’ interest and feedback for this article superseded “The Sovereign Workplace” published in April 2007 and is now ranked as the #1 article ever published by BD in terms of reader response. Why such response? You need to read it for yourself to find out. A must read!

“Passing the Final Audit” – one of three articles submitted but not published by BD. This article strongly suggest how one prepares to pass “The Final Audit”. BD felt the article might be too controversial.

“Time to Jump” – published 9/13 – Mr. Kendrick discusses the fear and emotions of walking through your bank being purchased by another bank – a real crossroads for many bankers. This article offers some ideas for bankers as they are forced to walk through this difficult time.

“Face the Music” – published 3/13 – Throughout this article, Mr. Kendrick discusses a true story $6 million fraud in a small community bank and the most likely source to detect such frauds.

“Banking Fraud: Did You Know …” – published 2/13 – Mr. Kendrick reviews some of the major findings of a 2012 Fraud Study and suggest bankers need a wake-up call to the vulnerabilities of fraud in the financial industry.

“Enough is Enough” – published 10/12 – written and published just prior to the 2012 Presidential election and a pretty heavy critique of regulatory pressures and the effect they have had and will have on community banks unless something is done.

“The Last Straw” – one of three articles submitted but not published by BD. This article was submitted in 2012 immediately after five large banks agreed to a $25 billion settlement to the federal government for abusive mortgage lending practices. BD felt the article might be too controversial.

“The New Kid in Town” – published 10/11 – a play off of an old Andy Griffith episode where Opie has to confront the town bully. Read how Mr. Kendrick ties that bully into someone we all know too well.

“Retire or Rehire Your Outsourcer” – published 2/11 – Mr. Kendrick discusses in this article some practical reasons for either keeping or getting rid of your current outsource provider.

“An Ounce of Prevention Worth a Pound of Cure” – published 8/10 – Mr. Kendrick discusses the need for perception in the eyes of bank personnel to defer fraud.

“Springtime: Well-managed community banks should take a bow” – published 5/10 – after suffering some pretty severe weather torments through drought, rain and snow, Mr. Kendrick discusses the parallels of such events to similar events in the financial institutions industry.

“Look for an Opportunity to Give it All Away: Mom’s Purse” – published 4/08 – Mr. Kendrick shares a personal experience with his mother and draws a parallel to customer service.

“It’s Hunting Season” – published 11/07 – an interesting look at what makes a really good auditor seen through the eyes of a hunter and his faithful companion, the hunting dog.

‘The Sovereign Workplace” – published 4/07 – according to BD, one of the most well received articles they had ever published. Another periodical asked BD if they would allow them to publish as well. A must read!
